Class Descriptions
Because we are primarily a teacher training school, we take time to look at the main ingredients of the practice to support students in building a solid and strong practice. With commitment and intention, our classes will begin to inspire you to greater heights!
Our classes are designed to share the love of the practice with all who enter. Through the practice of linking breath and motion, hearts are opened and happiness is revealed. We are a chill, relaxed and stress-free environment. You are welcome and encouraged to leave your troubles at the door and climb the ladder to a lighter mind and body.
Full Primary Series is the classical ashtanga yoga class as taught by Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. All 72 poses are practiced in this 90 minute led class. Enjoy this led class with a focus on the spiritual elements of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga class. This series is know as Yoga Chitchitsa or Yoga therapy.
Modified Primary Series is a shortened version of the Full Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Including 40 poses from the original 72, this class provides modifications while maintaining the “flow” of the Ashtanga Vinyasa System. This series gives beginning students time to work on their form and the key ingredients of the practice: breath, bandhas and dristi.
Rocket Vinyasa Classes include poses from the Primary and Intermediate series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Designed while on tour with the Grateful Dead, Larry’s progressive routines are fun, uplifting and inspiring. These classes are dynamic and aerobic: be ready to practice arm balances, core routines and back-bends. Some of these classes are done “Mysore” style, meaning minimal verbal instruction is given.
Follow the Yogi classes are what the title implies! Come in and follow the leader who will guide, inspire and literally take you up a notch in your practice. This class is perfect for beginners and advanced practitioners who are open to following the Yogi.
