It’s Yoga, Kids
provides healthy fun for all ages and abilities. Classes are specifically developed and modified appropriately by level, and are taught using the method of the It’s Yoga Vinyasa system. This is a fun and dynamic system of practicing poses joined together by breath and flowing movement.

Each student is unique. In order to maximize their yoga experience, we integrate Harvard University educator Howard Gardner's theory of “multiple intelligences”. This theory identifies seven types of intelligences, or different ways in which students learn.  While having fun, kids unconsciously discipline themselves in areas of strength, balance and concentration. Over time, these techniques are consciously applied in everyday life.


All classes are composed in the following rhythm: warm-up, action/play, winding down and relaxation.

Family Yoga: all ages

Enjoy healthy family fun with individual and group yoga poses, creative breathing exercises, and relaxing connection time.  Designed for ages 2 years and up and open to all family members and caregivers.

Mother & Daughter: ages 6-12yrs

The mother/daughter bond is a rich resource of nourishment and challenge. Moving and breathing together offers the opportunity for connection and fun!

It's Yoga, Baby: ages newborn-12mo

Introduce your baby to the many benefits of yoga from the beginning of life.  This sweet program includes yoga movement, songs and infant massage for babies that enrich their development and deepen the parent/caregiver and child bond.

 

It's Yoga, Toddlers: ages 2-3yrs
Playful and fun, young children with a parent or caregiver, lay the foundation for yoga with animal yoga poses, songs, stories, and games that help develop positive life skills.    


It's Yoga, Pre-K: ages 3-5yrs
Creative and fun, these classes stimulate imagination, maintain flexibility and develop conscious breathing. Our unique approach combines yoga poses with songs, stories, games and relaxation techniques.

It’s Yoga, Kids: ages 5-7yrs
These fun and engaging classes explore yoga poses, cooperative games, breathing and relaxation exercises and convey lessons in self-expression, body-awareness, and social skills. Non-competitive and fun, students develop strength, flexibility, concentration and confidence.

Rocket Kids™: ages 8-13yrs

Kids lengthen and strengthen their bodies with flowing sequences, balancing poses, breathing exercises, and simple relaxation techniques.  Along with partner poses and fun yoga activities that build trust and positive communication, Rocket Kids™ are on top of the world!


IYK Teens: ages 14-17yrs

Developing their bodies and their minds teens build strength and flexibility with flowing yoga postures, balancing poses, visualization and relaxation.  Self-reflection and peer interaction create a supportive environment to nourish confidence, body appreciation and connectedness.  


Special Needs: all ages

Yoga has been shown to help children who have varying disabilities and impairments. Gentle and therapeutic, yoga is both safe and helpful for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other developmental or learning disabilities.

Incorporating principles from Yoga for the Special Child™, our therapeutic program includes an integrated series of balanced yoga poses to increase body awareness, strength and flexibility. Specialized breathing exercises and relaxation techniques help improve concentration and focus.




 
Adult Only Yoga: all levels

Flowing postures warm and open the body building strength, flexibility, balance, and quiet the mind. This class connects mind, body and breath and is excellent for all levels. 


Prenatal Yoga: all stages
During your pregnancy, connect with your body, and your baby, through yoga. Focus on breathing, centering, and releasing tension to prepare the body and mind for labor. Appropriate
for all stages of pregnancy and no prior yoga experience is necessary.

Parent & Baby Yoga: newborn to walking
Strengthen the bond between you and your baby. Parents will focus on specific poses to help rebuild abdominal and pelvic floor muscles while increasing overall strength and flexibility.   A portion of the class is dedicated to you and your baby.

Parent & Baby Pilates: newborn to walking
Holding your growing child, uses muscles you never knew existed! This class focuses on the form and function necessary to align your body properly for maximum comfort and stamina when managing your little ones. We set up the studio to engage tots while parents work on core areas of strength.

At school or a private venue, It's Yoga, Kids brings yoga to you. We provide yoga as an in-school enrichment program or after-school extended day service at public and private schools. We customize the programs to fit the needs of the students and the administration.
